It seems to me that I am on a project called "House".
What do I mean by that?
Well, I don't remember and it isn't so important to know exactly if this project started with paintings or photographs or is it the other way around, but it is going on on both of my creative sides. I am creating works that are related to houses. In Croatia a house is something that is owned, not rented, that is an inheritance, a place where often two or even three generations live together... Houses often are showing all the good and the bad times that one family had in the past. Passing through numerous villages in Zagorje I can recognize houses that are built in the era of big poverty when lots of people found their jobs in Germany and sent their wages back home to their families to build houses. Houses that are built in the era of communism had a different architecture, then the one's build earliar or more recent. New modern houses, often have lots of bright or even very strong colors, they can be a block of an ugly building that is higher that any other in the neighborhood or they can have a more pleasant modern look.
I am trying to capture the spirit of humans living in those houses.
It is an ongoing project and maybe it will last all my life.
