Handmade portfolio dimensions 30x40 cm (11.8"x15.8") with two handmade original - signed on the back - photographs. Photographs are made with 19th century technique called Vandyke brown.
On the cover is encasutic photo (made with beeswax) from the original photo that is inside.
I added one of my pencil drawing at the end as a special surprise.

Last Friday was "O - day", the exhibition opening night. I exhibited 24 of my alternative photographs. The exhibition is still on (till 19-th of April) in Zabok, Croatia. We made little move from that event. It is on Croatian, so if you do not speak Croatian, at least you can watch photographs :)

Vandyke process gets its name from its similarity in color to the deep brown pigment used by the Flemish painter Van Dyck. VDB is an iron-based process, processes that utilize the action of light on ferric salts. It is hand developed photograph. Each developing is unique. Different papers, temperature etc. have a big influence on the final result.

When it is a gray, rainy day, as today, I have almost a habit to revise my old photographs. I found that to be most useful for me, one of the reasons is that I can see clearly how my artistic vision is changing and I can adjust my own path according to goals that I set before me. Another useful thing is that I can develop my old photographs in a new way, adjusted to my new way of looking at them. I consider my artworks (photographs in this case) to be of lasting value and revising them I give them new life. Nature is ever slowly changing, I am changing, so why should not my photographs? It is a moment captured on camera, a moment that is long gone, but in a form of photograph it is always a new one.

Autumn is here and I made some panoramic photographs. We were walking through the woods of Gorski kotar (a mountain region in Croatia) and by the creeks and rivers. It was early in the morning, a bit cold, but the only time when I can experience nature.
At the time when noisy tourists arrived, we were heading back.

I am posting few photographs from our last trip in the canyons and mountains of Gorski kotar (region in Croatia).
I had only my old folding camera, Franka Solida and couple rolls of film with me. Light hiking with light weight carrying.

"This is not for old people" – said our first neighbor when she saw us at home one day earlier than we've planed it.
I almost agreed with her. But almost.
We have planed to do a short trip to the Alps (Austria) during late June, but the weather conditions got so wrong, a lot of storms (unusual for this time of season) so we changed our plans and packed for the wider area of Velebit in our beautiful and full of contrast Croatia. The area that we were heading to, is a canyon area and in the beginning we planed to visit a couple of them in the same day.
